Microsoft Power Point Controls



1. Menu BarUsed to access the Power Point menus and the Office Assistant (Help). Includes buttons to perform the most frequently used file, editing, insert, Design, animation, slideshow.


2. Toolbar Includes buttons to perform the most frequent file formatting operations such as specifying fonts and font size; specifying text characteristics such as bold, italic, underlining; text positioning (left margin, center, right margin); bullets and numbering, and formatting indentation operations.

3. View lineDisplays the various viewing options.

4. Status lineDisplays messages.

5. Note PaneDirectly below the active slide, this is where you input speaker notes for the current slide. None of this content is visible on the actual slide while presenting, although it is visible in both Notes Page view and Presenter view.

6. Slides/Outline PaneNormally placed on the left side of the interface, this pane contains two tabs, the Slides tab and the Outline tab. The Slides tab shows thumbnails of all the slides in the open presentation. The Outline tab   shows the same slides in outline view.

Master
A Master can be an efficient way of applying formatting and design elements consistently to every slide in your presentation
Template
A Template contains slide default settings. These characteristics include colors, fonts, bullet types and special elements such as graphics.
Slide Show
A Slide Show is the PowerPoint presentation given from a computer. This generally requires the use of a projection device such as a video-data projector or an overhead projector with an LCD (liquid crystal display).
Presentation
The Presentation is the collection of slides.
Wizard
A Wizard is a step-by-step guide for completing a task.
Transitions
A Transition is the effect that takes place when you advance from one slide to the next. This feature is available only with Slide Shows.
Animations
Animations allow you to have one line of text appear on the screen at a time, presenting the opportunity for you to pause and discuss each point. As the next line appears, the previous lines can be grayed out. This feature is available with printed presentations but is most effective (cost and impact) with electronic presentations.
Objects
An Object can be one of several things. Common objects include items that you create with the drawing tools and pictures that you import from other sources (such as scanned images).
Clip Art
Clip Art is the collection of pictures available in the PowerPoint Clip Art gallery
